View and edit your paper proposal

You may view or edit your paper proposal in My Congress user menu by logging into your IPSA account at

  • under 'My Papers', click on the paper title you wish to view or modify
  • click 'Edit' to make changes to the title or abstract
  • click 'Submit' to save the changes

If you can’t remember the email address or password you used for your online IPSA account, email  for assistance.

Please note: The Congress Event Team reserves the right to edit your title and abstract as required to conform to Congress standards.

Note: This only applies to abstracts in English.  

  • Do not use ALL CAPS and Capitalize titles in English as per the example below (you may also refer to the general rules of this article):
  • Remove quotation marks from the beginning and end of title ex. “The Case for Public Forums in Timbuktu” 
  • Remove periods from the end of titles ex. The Case for Public Forums in Timbuktu.

Paper Abstract

  • The abstract must not exceed 1650 characters (approximately 250 words). Descriptions longer than the limit have been shortened automatically. 
  • Do not include references, bibliographical notes, or your contact information in the abstract text.
  • Review your use of language.
  • The following points should be covered in your abstract:
    1. the research question your paper investigates
    2. how it relates to the Congress Main Theme
    3. a very brief description of the methodological approach​

Full Paper Submission

Main authors should upload the complete version of the proposed paper in PDF format by 1 July 2016.


  • A written paper, in English or French, no more than 25 pages, single-spaced on letter-sized paper (8.5” x 11”).
  • A paper can be written in Polish or Turkish if it is presented in the LOC sessions.
  • Authors are free to choose the citation style of their paper.
  • Papers should be uploaded in PDF format only.

Please do not send your paper to the congress organizers by e-mail.

To Upload your Full paper:

  • click on “My Program” in ‘My Congress user menu
    (refer to the screenshot for guidance)
  • Click on the orange “Upload your paper” button, under the paper title
  • Under the Paper header, click Browse and select a PDF file
  • Scroll down and click "Submit"

Please note:

  • You will be able to replace your uploaded paper at a later date if you so require (ie. If you are unable to provide the final version before the July 1 deadline).

  • Inclusion of your paper in our Online Paper Room does not constitute publication of your paper. You can choose to have your full paper removed at any time after the Congress by emailing your request to

To Replace or Remove your Full paper:

  • click on “My Program” in ‘My Congress user menu
    (refer to the screenshot for guidance)
  • Click on the the paper title
  • CLick the Edit tab
    (reefer to the screenshot for guidance)
  • Under the 'Paper'  header
    click 'Remove' and then 'Browse' and select a PDF file (to replace a full paper)
    click 'Remove' (to remove a full paper)
  • Scroll down and click "Submit"
